Patient / I have chest pain.

Doctor / What type of pain do you feel?

患者 / 胸が痛みます。

医師 / それはどのような感じの痛みですか？

Patient / I feel a prickly sensation in my chest,and occasionally there's a choking feeling.

Doctor / When do you have this pain?

患者 / 胸がチクチク刺されるような感じで、ときには息苦しくなります。

医師 / 何をしているときに痛くなりますか？

Patient / When I go upstairs, for example.

Doctor / Where do you feel the pain?

Patient / Mostly in the left chest.

患者 / 階段を昇るときなどです。

医師 / どのあたりの痛みですか？

患者 / 左胸あたりです。

知っておきたい豆知識

・胸痛にも、「prickling pain」(チクチクする痛み）、「severe pain, sharp pain」（激痛）、「dull pain」（鈍痛）、「piercing pain」(キリキリする痛み)等、状況に応じた表現をすることが大切。
・呼吸が苦しいときは、「to breathe with difficulty」とか「to have difficulty breathing」と言い、微妙にニュアンスが違います。
