Lesson.39 高血圧症 / High blood pressure

Patient / I had a medical examination the other day, and learned that I have high blood pressure.

Doctor / Is there anyone else in your family who has high blood pressure or heart disease?

患者 / 先日の健康診断で血圧が高いといわれました。

医師 / ご家族に高血圧や心臓病の方がいますか？

Patient / My father died of heart attack the year before last.

Doctor / Do you exercise regularly?

患者 / 父が一昨年、心筋梗塞で亡くなりました。

医師 / 日頃運動をしていますか？

Patient / I only play golf several times a year.

Doctor / Get as much exercise as possible, and try to avoid salty food and alcohol.

患者 / 年に何回かゴルフをする程度です。

医師 / できるだけ運動をして、塩分の多い食事やお酒は控え目にしてください。

知っておきたい豆知識

・「心臓」に関する言葉に、「heart」の他に「cardia」というものもあります。例えば、心陰影は「heart shadow」」、「cardiac shadow」の両方が使われます。また、専門用語では、高血圧は「hypertension」、心筋梗塞は「myocardial infarction」が使われます。
